When your credits run out, requests fail with a 402 error that tells you the reset date. Nothing is charged. Prices after the beta have not been announced yet.

What one page costs

You pay credits only when a request works. The price depends on how the page had to be loaded.

Plain fetch1credit a pageThe default. No JavaScript.
JavaScript rendering3credits a pageYou set js_render: true.
Full browser8credits a pageScreenshots, PDFs, browser actions, or an automatic step up after a bot challenge.

With mode: "auto", Spicrawl tries the cheapest way first and moves up only when it has to. You pay for the step that returned the page. If every step fails, you pay 0.

Managed proxies, stealth rendering, a remote browser and AI extraction are coming soon. They are not part of the price list yet.

Included at no extra cost

  • Markdown, text and JSON output
  • Structured data with CSS selectors (extract)
  • Page metadata (autoparse)
  • The list of links on a page
  • Network capture
  • Your own proxy, with no surcharge

What costs 0

  • Any error, including bot challenges and timeouts
  • Pages where the site answers with a status other than 200, 404 or 410 (you still get the site’s answer)
  • Requests refused before they run: bad input, a max_cost limit, rate limits
  • A screenshot you asked for that could not be made

A cached result is not free. It costs the same as the fetch that stored it. The cache makes repeats faster and spares the site, but it does not save credits.

Keep costs under control

  • Set max_cost. A request that could cost more is refused before it runs, at 0 credits.
  • Batches bill per page. A batch job charges only the pages that work, at the same prices. Set credit_budget to cap a whole job.
  • Read the headers. X-Credits-Charged shows what a request cost, and X-Credits-Remaining shows what is left this month.

Request rate and concurrency limits also apply. The response headers report the limits for your key. See the rate limits guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is Spicrawl free?

Yes, while it is in beta. Every account gets 1,000 credits a month and you do not need a credit card.

How much does one page cost?

A plain fetch costs 1 credit. JavaScript rendering costs 3. Full-browser rendering, used for screenshots, PDFs and browser actions, costs 8. You pay for the step that returned the page.

Do failed requests cost credits?

No. Errors, bot challenges, timeouts, refused requests and target statuses other than 200, 404 or 410 cost 0.

Are cached results free?

No. A cache hit is billed at the same price as the fetch that stored it. The cache makes a repeat faster and spares the site, but it does not save credits.

What happens when I use up my credits?

Requests fail with a 402 error that names the reset date. Your allowance resets every month on the day your organization was created.

What will Spicrawl cost after the beta?

Prices after the beta have not been announced yet.
